Alliance releases new SEND toolkit for early educators
Leading early years membership organisation the Early Years Alliance has today (Thursday 1 May 2025) launched a new toolkit to help early educators provide inclusive practice, and appropriate and effective support for children with SEND, at their settings.
As children with SEND can have different developmental stages to their peers, approaches to provision can often adopt a ‘deficit model’, focussing on what the child cannot do. In contrast, the Alliance’s new toolkit – Supporting children with SEND in the early years' Toolkit: Celebrating every child – looks in detail at how early educators can offer differentiated or additional support to enable children with diagnosed or undiagnosed SEND, or other identified needs, to reach their full potential and have an equal chance of successful progress.
The Toolkit provides tips and information that educators can use, as well as links to a wide range of resources to support excellence in practice. It will help those working in early years settings to support children at all stages of their learning journey, and create an environment that is warm, welcoming and nurturing and facilitates a true sense of belonging for every child and their family.
The toolkit is available to buy now on EYA Central, , priced at £58.30 for members and £106 for non-members.
